3. How do I find my property line or pins?

The GIS map viewer can show an APPROXIMATION of where property lines are. To locate the property line or property pins, please contact a land surveyor.

4. What does it mean if my deed is stamped with “Next Transfer Needs New Survey/Exempt”?

A document is stamped “Next Transfer Needs New Survey” if the description doesn’t meet the minimum requirements of the Mahoning County Conveyance Standards, but because the transfer was exempt, it was allowed to proceed. If the stamp is also annotated with specific parcels on a multi-parcel deed, then only those parcels listed required the new survey. Please refer to the Mahoning County Conveyance Standards for details.

5. Can Geographic Information System (GIS) provide a list of land surveyors or recommend a land surveyor?

No, the Geographic Information System (GIS) Office doesn’t have a list of land surveyors, nor do we recommend surveyors. The Mahoning County Conveyance Standards only require that the surveyor be licensed in the State of Ohio.
